LONDON (Reuters) -British Airways-owner IAG said it had submitted a statement of interest to buy a stake in Portuguese carrier TAP as part of the government’s part-privisation plan, but said some issues would need to be addressed before it would be willing to invest.
Germany’s Lufthansa said on Thursday it had filed its interest for a minority stake, while Air France-KLM is also a suitor.
“IAG confirms it has submitted a statement of interest to Parpública, in line with the government’s process for the part-privatisation of TAP,” an IAG spokesperson said on Friday.
“However, several terms would need to be addressed before IAG could propose an investment.”
