India’s IndiGo fined by airline regulator for lapses in pilot training

(Reuters) -InterGlobe Aviation, parent of airline IndiGo, has been fined by India’s aviation regulator for failing to use “qualified simulators” for pilot training at Category C airports, the company said on Wednesday.

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation imposed a 2 million-rupee ($22,531.40) penalty in its September 26 order, which the company said it will contest.

There is no material impact from the order on the airline’s financials, operations or other activities, the company added.
