QUITO (Reuters) -Ecuador’s President Daniel Noboa said on Wednesday he expects economic growth of 4.5% for this year, significantly higher than central bank projection given earlier this week.
The bank on Monday raised its gross domestic product growth projection for 2025 to 3.8%, up from a previous forecast of 2.8%.
“I would bet a ton that we will grow 4.5%. What happens is they are careful, they are hyper conservative, all bankers are that way,” Noboa said in an interview on Radio Gaviota, citing strong first half growth and a lack of the blackouts that hurt expansion last year. “It will finish above 4%, very close to 4.5%.”
