Convenience food producer Greencore reports higher annual profit

(Reuters) -Irish convenience food producer Greencore reported a rise in full-year adjusted operating profit on Tuesday, helped by robust demand for food-to-go products and effective cost management that helped offset inflationary pressures.

Greencore, which also signed an agreement to sell its Bristol site to appease competition concerns related to its acquisition of rival Bakkavor, said adjusted operating profit rose 28.9% to 125.7 million pounds ($165.27 million) in the year ended September 26.

Analysts were expecting profit of 125 million pounds, according to a company-compiled poll.
