NEW DELHI (Reuters) -India’s wholesale prices fell 1.21% year-on-year in October after a 0.13% rise in the previous month, government data showed on Friday.
Economists polled by Reuters had projected the wholesale prices to fall 0.6% year-on-year in October.
KEY NUMBERS
* Wholesale food prices fell 5.04% in October, compared with a 1.99% decline in the prior month.
* Vegetable prices in October declined 34.97% after a 24.41% year-on-year drop in September.
* Prices of manufactured products rose 1.54% last month, compared with a 2.33% year-on-year increase in September.
* Fuel and power prices fell 2.55% year-on-year in October, compared with a decline of 2.58% in the month-ago period.
