UK’s BAE Systems says strong demand underpins profit outlook

LONDON (Reuters) -BAE Systems, Britain’s biggest defence company, said sustained demand, including orders from Turkey for Typhoon aircraft and Norway for Type 26 frigates, underpinned it forecast to grow operating profit up to 11% this year.

It said on Wednesday that trading in the second half of the year was in line with its expectations, and positive momentum in order intake had seen more than 27 billion pounds ($36.2 billion) secured so far and further agreements anticipated before the end of the year.
