Goldman Sachs rejigs management at recently created Capital Solutions Group, memo shows

(Reuters) -Goldman Sachs has made several organizational changes and appointments in its unit that focuses on financing large deals and providing loans to corporate clients, according to an internal memo seen by Reuters on Friday.

The Wall Street giant created the Capital Solutions Group earlier this year, with the unit housed under its global banking and markets unit.

As part of the changes, Goldman is forming a global infrastructure and real asset finance group as it looks to grab a bigger market share in areas such as high-grade private credit.

The move comes as Goldman looks to capitalize on growing demand for asset-backed financing as clients increasingly seek out credit alternatives beyond traditional loans.

The company is also creating a unified global residential, consumer, and other financial assets group, while equity and debt private capital markets capabilities will be bundled under the global private and alternatives capital markets group.

Goldman’s commercial real estate finance group will continue to operate separately, the memo showed.
