(Reuters) – Germany’s ProSiebenSat.1 on Tuesday trimmed its 2025 outlook, citing challenges from an uncertain macroeconomic environment in German-speaking markets.
In a statement, the firm added it expects the economic situation in the region to remain difficult in the fourth quarter, the most important quarter for the company.
The broadcaster, in which Berlusconi-backed MFE-MediaForEurope holds more than 75%, now forecasts 2025 revenue between 3.65 billion and 3.80 billion euros ($4.32 billion-$4.50 billion), lower than its earlier projection of approximately 3.85 billion.
Adjusted core earnings (EBITDA) are expected to range between 420 million and 470 million euros, down from a previous estimate of around 520 million.
It also expects entertainment advertising revenues in the German-speaking region to decline by a mid-single-digit percentage range in the third quarter and to decline slightly in the fourth quarter.
Earlier on Tuesday, MFE chief financial officer said his company does not plan any domination agreement with Prosieben in the next 6-12 months and added MFE would consolidate the German company into its financial reporting from October 1.
